Varun Aaron in Mayank Agarwal returning to RCB

“He was the captain of a team, I think four years ago and I think not being collected in an action will be a great surprise for him. So he will be hungry, wanting to contribute and again he is playing for RCB.

He gave the example of Devdutt Padikkal, who had been released by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2022. He then had periods with Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) before returning to RCB for INR 2 Crore. In the IPL 2025, Padikkal scored 247 races from 10 games at an attack rate of 150.61 before being discarded due to an injury.

“Devdutt Padikkal is a great example, and I really think it could be one of those response seasons for him. In addition, he has the two -game cushion that is not very high pressure. Therefore, he can get a rhythm of things and not try to do anything elegant,” added the former pacemaker.
