Harry Brook will not be eligible to play at the IPL during the next two seasons after leaving before next season.
The former captain of England, Michael Vaughan, has supported BCCI’s decision to enforce a two -year prohibition of Harry Brook from England for retiring from the League of the Premier of India (IPL) 2025 after being acquired by Delhi Capitals. For the second consecutive year, Delhi’s capitals acquired Brook, but for the second consecutive year, the young man retired from the tournament.
‘They are right’: Vaughan in the prohibition of Brook IPL
Brook had retired from the IPL 2024 after the death of his grandmother and before IPL 2025, he retired to focus on the International Cricket. Among the new rules for IPL 2025, one of them was a two -year prohibition of the players who retired before a season after being acquired by a franchise.
“I think they are right. You realized. The rules were the rules. They announced them at the end of the IPL last year. Put on the auction, you say yes, and then you get out of anything. He is not injured, he only had the feeling that he simply did not want to get there to play in the IPL. He will remain in the United Kingdom,” Vaughan said in the Fire of the Prairie of Club.

“I have the feeling that he will probably be the captain of the White Ball of England in the future, so he only wants to focus his attention on England, so all England fans would be happy, but I think the IPL had to bring something because the franchises derails in the piece. I do not think it has been still replaced,” Vaughan added.
Harry Brook’s only IPL season
The only season of Harry Brook at the IPL was in 2023 when he represented Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He played 11 games that season, but managed to score only 190 races at a strike rate of 123.37.
