India has produced some quality cricketing talents in recent years. It is well known that the country has immense potential for cricket, but choosing and backing the right talent has an important role to play in this process.
The IPL plays a very important role in talent scouting, but not all successful IPL players achieve the same success at the international level. Among so many names, it is very difficult for the selectors to select a handful of players for the national team.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan, all these youngsters have made solid entries in the international arena and have shown their potential. In the coming years, these players are expected to earn a no. of games for India.

Wasim Jaffer credits scouting team for drafting Dhruv Jurel
Former India opener Wasim Jaffer has given credit to the selectors and scouting team for the selection of Dhruv Jurel in the Indian team. During a podcast on the TRS Clips YouTube channel, Jaffer admitted that he was initially surprised by the selection of Jurel, since he was nowhere near the picture.
“I was surprised because he suddenly came into the picture. He was nowhere in the picture. Credit must be given to those who scouted him. To suddenly bring him into the Test team because he was not in the calculation. It was either Rishabh Pant, or KS Bharat, or KL Rahul. They brought him out of nowhere and realized he could work well,” Jaffer said.
The former India batsman also praised Dhruv Jurel for his batting and wicket-keeping in the Test series against India.
“Jurel also needs to be given a pat on the back for the way he responded, scoring 90 against England. Then also in the IPL. He has the skills. It’s not just him. Actually, a lot of others have them. It’s just about to have a chance.” “Jaffer added.
Dhruv Jurel was exceptional in his first international series against England. He scored a crucial score of 46 in his debut Test in Rajkot. He did not stop here and scored magnificent scores of 90 and 39* in the next test at Ranchi.
Jurel’s second innings score of 39 came when India were in trouble at 120-5, chasing a target of 192 in the fourth innings of the Test match. He was chosen Man of the Match for his performance. The 23-year-old scored 190 runs in four innings at an average of 63.33 as India won the series 4-1.
Even though Virat Kohli was absent throughout the series, India’s youngsters showed their strength by leading the team to a memorable series victory. Jurel’s IPL teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal emerged as the series’ leading run-scorer with 712 runs in five Tests at an average of 89. Jaiswal was declared Player of the Series for his brilliant performance with the bat .
