‘He’s my idol’: Riyan Parag makes big comments about Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli

Indian national cricketer Riyan Parag has spoken about his relationship with veteran batsman Virat Kohli. He said that the former captain of the team is his idol and he has always looked up to him since his childhood.

Indian batsman Virat Kohli has been one of the best players to have ever played for the team. Not just for his performance with the bat, but for the way he carries himself and for being the face of the game. His aggressive nature has been one of the highlights of his career and he is undoubtedly the idol of many.

One of the players who looks up to him is Riyan Parag. This young all-rounder possesses the same kind of character as Virat Kohli and is not afraid to return the favour to the opposing players. He has often been in the news for his temper and fights with the players.

In terms of performance, Riyan Parag has grown by leaps and bounds. The all-rounder, after years of hard work, has finally been rewarded and has now made it to the Indian team in both One-Day Internationals and T20 Internationals.

Riyan Parag has been one of the most consistent players on the domestic circuit over the last few years. He failed to make his mark in the IPL, but in the most recent edition of the league, he made sure to tick that box and put in some superb performances for the Rajasthan Royals.

Riyan Parag was the third-highest run-scorer in IPL 2024. He scored 573 runs in 16 matches and scored 4 half-centuries. He stood tall for his team in important matches and in pressure situations and led them to victory. He batted at number 4 this season and restored the trust of the management.

Following that, Parag was also named in the Indian squad for the T20Is against Zimbabwe and was then part of the T20I series against Sri Lanka. He then made his debut in the ODIs as well. After his decent outings in the shorter format, he proved his prowess in the 50-overs format as well.

In the third ODI against Sri Lanka, he made his debut and made an immediate impact. The all-rounder took 3 wickets and also looked solid with the bat. Although he didn’t get the runs he would have wished for, he also looked pleasing to the eye.
