Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have suffered a severe blow in the current Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Sri Lanka’s star spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to the heel injury he has been suffering from for some time.
Wanindu Hasaranga experienced chronic pain in the heel of his left foot during the recent white-ball series against Bangladesh. The Sri Lanka medical team confirmed that the Sri Lanka T20I captain is suffering from pain due to wear and tear of the musculoskeletal system.
Wanindu Hasaranga then traveled to Dubai to see a specialist and the player was deemed unfit to participate for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He was supposed to get clearance from Sri Lanka Cricket only after visiting the specialist . However, it appears that he did not obtain fitness clearance.
In his place, Sunrisers Hyderabad named Sri Lankan spinner Vijayakanth Viyaskanth as a replacement.
