Dhruv Jurel pays tribute to Virat Kohli’s 16-year journey
Describing Kohli as a cricket legend, Jurel said he always tries to learn from the Indian cricket team’s batting maestro, focusing on understanding the dedication and hard work that shaped his success.
The youngster said that every time he interacts with Kohli, he is captivated by his presence and the powerful aura that surrounds him, as he paid tribute to the modern-era great on completing 16 years in international cricket.
Jurel said that Kohli’s aura inspires him to strive to make a similar impact in his own career as he is trying to develop the qualities that make others look up to him. I always try to learn because he is a cricket legend: Jurel on Kohli
Dhruv Jurel told Sports Tak: “I always try to learn because he is a cricket legend. So I think about how he was shaped, what he did in the past. I am always curious to learn new things. So, whenever I talk to him, I only talk about cricket and when you are around him, you feel that aura that makes you feel that Virat Kohli is there.”
Jurel added: “That’s why it’s good that we feel that we have to do something that we also feel that people have come to ask for, that there is an aura. Because he has played for about 16 years for India and he has always dominated. So that’s very inspiring. So I will try to incorporate that.”
He’s very calm: Jurel praises Rohit Sharma’s captaincy style
Meanwhile, Jurel made his India debut under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, and described the Indian captain’s approach to interacting with his teammates as relaxed and approachable.
The Rajasthan Royals (RR) player revealed that Rohit treats everyone equally, be it senior or junior, and is always open to offering help and creating a comfortable environment for all the players.
Jurel concluded by saying, “To be honest, he is very calm. He talks to you. It’s not like you are a senior or a senior. He always talks very casually. If you need help, just come over. I don’t have any problems. He is normal. He makes you feel comfortable.”
Notably, Jurel has so far appeared in three Test matches for Team India, amassing 190 runs with a highest score of 90. Furthermore, during India’s recent tour of Zimbabwe, the wicket-keeper played in two T20I matches, where he could score just six runs but played a key role behind the stumps.
