How much should owners interfere with franchise and players presentations? The former SRH player, RCB thinks

The recent conversations between the owner of LSG Sanjiv Goenka and Captain Rishabh Pant have started the debate.

The former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Siddharth Kaul pacemakers felt that the owners of the Premier League teams in India (IPL) should have specific Cricket conversations with their players behind closed doors.

By telling his experiences talking to Srh’s co -owner, Kavya Maran, Kaul said he had always felt comfortable and relieved that he was better familiar with co -owner Kavery Kalanithi.

“In all these years, when they played me, she has always been kind to me. He never made me feel that she was talking to an owner. She used to visit the Saibaba temple near the Team Hotel in Hyderabad and sometimes she used to find her mother there. Then, in a way that was better known (Kalanithi) Ma’am,” Kaul said in Cricxtey in an exclusive chat.

What happened with KL Rahul in LSG was unnecessary

Kaul had spent five seasons in SRH and made 43 appearances in the IPL. He felt that he had never faced a situation such as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant, had the owner Sanjiv Goenka.

Goenka’s heated discussion with Rahul last season resulted in the Karnataka batter from leaving the franchise for Delhi Capitals (DC). He had said that the time to be captured by the transmission of cameras affected the morale of the team.

This season, Pant was also seen similar conversations with Goenka after the defeats of DC and Punjab Kings.

“I can’t comment on other people’s personal agendas because it is their perspective if they think they have a player because they offer for them at the auction. If I owned and have to tell my player something, I will do it in a closed room. I will not do it outdoors where there are 36 cameras that are approaching,” Kaoul said.

“What happened between Rahul Bhai and the owner during that time, was unnecessary. But, I think you are ambitious about your team and want them to win, sometimes that frustration could come out. But if you want a TRP or something else, you can definitely go ahead with this,” Kaul added.

Siddharth Kaul in IPL team owners

When asked if the coaching staff, owners and players must get out of their role, Kaul had a simple answer.

“It is very simple that if you owned you have hired coaches to do the training, then let them do your job. If I were a player and he tells me something, he would treat him on the field, but if he is an owner, then he would ask to enter a room to discuss the problem. I hope that the owners do not interfere with the specific things of the Crick. Listen to their advice,” he said.

However, Punjab pacemaker felt that owners can talk to players at a certain point, but not during the season.

“I also believe that the owners must talk to the players and give feedback, but once the season ends. They can then comment, discuss whether they stay or leave or ask about mental and physical well -being,” he said.
