New Zealand – Team profile for Champions Trophy 2025
Tournament: Trophy Champions 2025
Captain: Mitchell Santner
Coach: Gary Stead
Previous edition: League stage
If there is any equipment that always hits over its weight in the CPI events, they are New Zealand. They have been a constant performance in different tournaments in recent years, although they have not yet won an important title, except for the World Test Championship 2021.
However, things have changed dramatically for them. They have a new captain who will lead the Kiwis for the first time in an ICC tournament, and their quality is no longer the same.
Some injury concerns have been an obstacle to Kiwis, which are already suffering a transition. Even so, they have some quality players and will not be aggressive.

Strong New Zealand Playing XI for Champions Trophy 2025
Devon Conway Rachin Ravindra Kane Williamson Daryl Mitchell Tom Latham (WK) Glenn Phillips Michael Bracewell Mitchell Santner (C) Matt Henry Lockie Ferguson William O’Rourke
Strengths
New Zealand has one of the most skilled batting alignments of competition. All batters provide quality and sufficient experience. They have a good mixture of LHB-RHB in the batting unit. They have some of the best turning players throughout the batting unit. New Zealand has depth in its batting unit, with Mitchell Santner at number 8. Mitchell Santner is one of the best defensive spinning spins in the white ball cryket that provides control in the media. Matt Henry’s resurgence in Odis increases power bowling, while Lockie Ferguson and William O’Rourke can be very effective in the Pakistani roofs, since they can extract an additional rhythm and bounce. New Zealand has many bowling options in its strongest XI.
Weaknesses
Devon Conway, Kane Williamson and Matt Henry have been prone to injuries, while the availability of Lockie Ferguson of the first game is still unconfirmed. If any of these are injured, New Zealand will be arduous to find alternatives that obviously do not provide the same skills sets. A last minute injury to Ben Sears has exhausted bowling of bowling. While Jacob Duffy has gone well at limited opportunities, Sears could be more effective in Pakistani roofs due to his rhythm. While William O’Rourke brings that additional rebound factor, sometimes it can be misrepresented. You are still working to constantly land balls in the right areas. New Zealand does not have a doll genuine spinner who can bring regular wicks in the middle.
Trophy 2025 Seasonal verdict for New Zealand
The best thing in favor of New Zealand is that they have more experience than any other visiting team that plays in Pakistan. Even before the tournament, they have played a tris-series to adjust their preparations.
They go to the tournament with one of the strongest sides. Despite some obvious weaknesses, Blackcaps have quality in their team.
New Zealand should qualify for the semifinal at least, Pakistan and Bangladesh pipes of his group. However, they could not go beyond the semifinal.
