With the recent retirees of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli of the longest format, there is a great leadership crisis ahead of the series of tests of five high profile of India against England, from the end of June.
As reported, the Talisman pacemaker and the veteran of India, Jasprit Bumrah, rejected the captaincy that offers workload problems. Given the current scenario, Odi Shubman Gill’s vicecapitan is the favorite to lead the side against the three lions.
However, echoing the same line, the former Crickt player from India Sanjay Manjrekar has expressed his surprise for management for looking at other options apart from Bumrah. He opposed that selectors should look for a Vice-Capitán Adept that can step forward, if Bumrah needs a break to handle his pressure.
Manjrekar wrote on X (previously Twitter): “I am surprised that we are looking at any other option other than Bumrah as a test captain!
In particular, Jasprit Bumrah served as a test captain during the Border-Gavaskar trophy (BGT) earlier this year, assuming the role in the first and fifth game of the series. However, his heavy workload finally affected during the final test in Sydney, since he suffered a stress -related back injury, which forced him to leave the competitive cryket for more than three months.

With an approach to the construction of the future, it is understood that Wicktkeeper-Batter Rishabh Pant is online to obtain the role of ViceCapitan. Pant, however, suffered a hard race during the Australian series, where his reckless shot selection was criticized. It remains to be seen how the Indian leadership extends to the team that is expected to be announced in the next few days.
The five -test series will begin on June 20 and will mark the new era of India without Rohit’s trio, Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin.
