MS Dhoni has been one of India’s biggest actors, leading them successfully across all formats. However, a former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player admitted that his relations with him are not smooth and the two are also not on speaking terms.

Harbhajan Singh, who previously played for CSK in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has shockingly revealed his bitter relations with the legendary captain. On News18, Harbhajan stated that barring on-field tactics while playing for CSK, he and Dhoni did not talk much even while playing together.

“No, I am not talking to Dhoni. When I played for CSK is when we spoke, but otherwise we haven’t spoken. It’s been 10 years and more. I have no reason; maybe it will. I don’t know what the reasons are. When we played in the IPL for CSK, we used to talk, and that was also limited to the ground.”

There have been previous reports that several players were dissatisfied with the way Dhoni treated them during his tenure. The main reason behind the breakup is supposedly left out despite giving multiple match-winning performances for India in his heyday.

MS Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh may not be on the same page anymore, but the two have played a significant number of matches together in the colors of India and CSK. Under the leadership of MS Dhoni, Harbhajan has enjoyed great success in all formats and the duo formed a strong partnership as bowler and wicketkeeper.

Under MS Dhoni, Harbhajan has 229 wickets at an average of 34.04 in 155 innings across all formats, including four five-wicket hauls. In the IPL, he has 23 wickets at an average of 24.30 and a strike rate of 18.73 in 23 innings over two seasons under his captaincy.

The two won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 World Cup together before winning an IPL title with Chennai Super Kings in 2018. They also came close to winning their second consecutive title but fell short by one run on following year.

Whatever the reasons, Harbhajan has made a shocking statement about his relations with MS Dhoni. Perhaps you feel your snub was unfair, causing divisions between the two players.
