Gujarat captain Priyank Panchal shared some insightful advice he received from his national teammate Jasprit Bumrah. Priyank Panchal highlighted how Jasprit Bumrah made him realize the importance of staying patient and not losing hope in difficult times.

Priyank Panchal is considered one of the most consistent batsmen in domestic cricket. The right-handed batsman was with the team in South Africa but did not get a chance to make his international debut. He was not included in the squad for the next Test series against the West Indies.

He always told me not to expect anything – Priyank Panchal

Priyank Panchal highlighted his conversations with Jasprit Bumrah about handling situations when things have not gone his way.

“I usually talk to Jasprit (Bumrah). He has played a lot of cricket for Gujarat and he has been through this situation many times where he expects something and it didn’t happen”. Panchal told Sportskeeda.

“So he always told me not to expect anything. If something comes my way, it will eventually come. So as an athlete it’s important not to run after peace or success as it will come if it’s meant to be.” added.

IPL is something I would obviously love to play – Priyank Panchal

The 33-year-old revealed his aspirations to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Panchal said that he has been working hard over the past few years to improve his white ball game.

“I think now I’m focused on working hard and looking forward to playing in the Duleep Trophy. I am looking forward to helping my team become a champion. Other than that IPL is something I would obviously love to play and I have been working hard from the last 3-4 years for help me white ball game and I’ve also scored runs.” he continued.

“Being impressive is important so I was working very hard. Last year, during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy, I realized that I have what it takes to score quickly.

I have the technique and the ability to score runs with the new ball. Gujarat Cricket Association very supportive in terms of providing everything. That makes a big difference”, He concluded.
