During the second season of Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams, Flintoff revealed the severe impact of the horrific car accident. The 46-year-old actor claimed that he still struggles with anxiety and has nightmares about the accident.
“I really shouldn’t be here after what happened. I don’t want to sit there and feel sorry for myself. I don’t want sympathy. I’m struggling with my anxiety, I’m having nightmares, I’m having flashbacks — it’s been really hard to deal with,” Flintoff said.
“But I think if I don’t do something, I’ll never go. I have to move on. I’m already struggling and I need help. I really do. I’m not the best at asking for help. I need to stop crying every two minutes,” he added.

The former England captain further mentioned that he is now focusing on the positive aspects of his life. He became very emotional while narrating his chilling experience.
“I have to look at the positive. I have another chance and I’m going to take advantage of it. I see it as something like that: a second chance. But when you look at it, it seems insignificant in comparison.”
“You come to a place like this and you see all these kids. It’s inspiring because they’ve all been through tough times in their lives. It’s weird, I’m getting so emotional as I’m talking… I’m going to have to put my sunglasses on!” Flintoff added.
Following his accident, Andrew Flintoff was away from the public for a significant period as he continued his recovery from injuries sustained. In the meantime, the BBC suspended the show for “the foreseeable future”.
