
The former coach of India, Ravi Shastri, opened on Virat Kohli who approached him before announcing his surprising retreat from the longest format. In particular, Kohli had announced his decision to hang his boots on May 12, a few days after former captain Rohit Sharma took a similar position.
Kohli and Shastri formed one of the most successful captain’s duos in the history of the Indian test cryket and was the Indian coach during most Kohli as captain when India became the number 1 side in the red ball crying and kept the place for an amazing 42 months.
“I talked to him about it, I think a week before that [his announcement] And his mind was very clear that he had given us everything, ”Shastri told the CPI review.
“There were no regrets. There were one or two questions I asked, and that is a personal conversation that, you know, he mentioned very clearly, there was no doubt in his mind, which made me think:” Yes, the moment is correct. “The mind has told his body that it is time to leave.”
Shastri, however, ended up saying that he still believed that Kohli could have continued playing the test cryket for another two years.

Therefore, his announcement surprised many fans and experts from the Crickt, especially because he only had 770 years of achieving the rare milestone of 10k tests.
