Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been two of the best batsmen in the world over the last decade. Both batsmen have scored big against all opponents and in all conditions.

They have been the flag bearers of Indian cricket for the past decade. Both Rohit and Virat Kohli are already two of India’s most decorated batsmen of all time. After the legendary MS Dhoni stepped down as captain, Virat Kohli took charge of the team before being replaced by Rohit Sharma in 2021.

Virat Kohli and Rohit are two of the best batsmen in the world for several years now. As a result of their impressive exploits on the field, the veteran batsmen have also fueled a long-standing debate about who is better among them.

The jury is still out on the matter, but former Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Zahid believes that Rohit is better than Kohli. In an interview on former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali’s YouTube channel, Zahid said that while Kohli is one of the best in the world, Rohit is better than him. Zahid also praised Rohit as the best batsman in the world today.

Zahid Mahmood talks about Indian legends

“Nobody can deny Virat Kohli. However, I would rate Rohit Sharma above Kohli. Rohit is the best batsman in the world today. He is very brave against fast bowlers. He is a talented player. He picks up the length very quickly, like Inzaman-ul-Haq used to do,” Zahid Mahmood said.

Both Rohit and Kohli are currently in Sri Lanka for the ongoing three-match ODI series. Rohit has shined with the bat in the series so far, hitting two blistering fifties, although India are yet to win a match in the series. In the first match, Rohit hit a fifty off 33 balls before getting a fifty off 29 balls in the second match.

On the other hand, Kohli has struggled to find his groove so far. The former India captain scored 24 runs in the first game before being dismissed for 14 in the second.
