ICC Champions Trophy 2025: BCCI rejects PCB’s wild proposal; tournament in play

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has rejected the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) new proposal allowing the Indian team to return to their country after playing all the matches.

The PCB promised to provide assistance to the Indian team to allow it to cross the border after each game. Since India’s matches will be held in Lahore and the city is close to the Indian border, the PCB saw it as a convenient option to allow India’s presence in the tournament.

However, it is learned that the BCCI is yet to receive any such request from the PCB. The news was confirmed by a senior BCCI official, as reported by Dainik Jagran. The official spoke more about the idea.

He even stated that even if such a proposal comes from the other side of the border, it will be rejected. The proposal was brought by the BCCI to allow India to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy to be held next year in February-March.
