ICC Champions Trophy 2025: International Cricket Council confirms final stance on venue

International Cricket Council (ICC) CEO Geoff Allardice has officially confirmed that the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will remain in Pakistan, despite uncertainties over India’s participation in the tournament.

With the 2025 Champions Trophy scheduled for February-March, Pakistan is eagerly preparing for a grand event, with major stadiums in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi undergoing extensive renovations to meet international standards.

ICC confirms Pakistan as 2025 Champions Trophy hosts despite India’s travel concerns

However, tensions are mounting as the BCCI has reportedly refused to send the Indian cricket team to Pakistan due to political tension between the two nations. However, at a recent press conference held in Dubai on the occasion of the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup, Allardice made it clear that Pakistan will be hosting the event.

The ICC chief executive has reiterated that there will be no change in the venue for the upcoming Champions Trophy in 2024 and that no team has yet expressed opposition to travelling to Pakistan for the grand event. This statement raised questions over whether India is prepared to travel to Pakistan for the tournament.
