Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin spoke about India’s drought to win the ICC title. He said that although all the buzz is around the team that wins the ICC tournament, the Men in Blue will be the favorites to win the tournament.
The 2023 ICC World Cup is about three months away from now. The cricket party will kick off on October 5 with a highly successful clash between England and New Zealand. The semifinals are scheduled for November 15 and 16, while the final will be played on November 19 in Ahmedabad.

India will be the heavy favorite for the World Cup 2023. But not many have given them a fair chance to win the Cup due to their participations in ICC events since 2013. Last time they won ICC Champions Trophy it was in 2013 and since then they have lost T20 World Cups, World Cups and Test Championships as well.

Ravichandran Ashwin feels that, except for a few factors, India has a great chance to win the tournament. He admitted that they are a strong team and said that it is ridiculous to answer the question of whether they won the title. Speaking in a video posted to his YouTube channel, Ravichandran Ashwin said:
“In fact, we went into the 2019 World Cup as strong favourites. But all the teams have had the same opportunities during each ICC event. If you ask me, any cricket match starts at 50:50. But India starts favorites ahead of this 2023 World Cup.
“Of course, all the hype on social media will be about whether India will be able to get an ICC trophy. We have been following this issue for so many years of asking, “Can India end the ICC Trophy drought?” If you ask me, this is ridiculous, guys. India is a strong team. Except for some factors, India has a great opportunity this time.”

ICC World Cup 2023: “I wanted all games to start at 11:30am or 12:00pm to completely nullify the dew factor,” says Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin also highlighted the key factor that will be present in the world cup. He said that he wanted the games to start around 12:30 to nullify the dew factor. Ravichandran Ashwin elaborated:
“But one thing I wanted in terms of the tournament schedule didn’t materialize. He wanted all games to start at 11:30 am or 12:00 pm to nullify the dew factor completely. Look, this World Cup will take place in October.
“Will there be a chance of dew during this time? Usually the World Cup will not take place during this period. Even in 2011, it took place just before summer. It started in February and ended in the first week of April and then we had the IPL that year,” Ravichandran Ashwin concluded.
