In what has been the latest development according to PTI reports, it is known that one of the conclusions of the BCCI SGM was that the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 schedule is likely to be announced on the sidelines of the Cricket World Cup Final. A total of 47 games will be played and 10 teams will fight each other for the crown, which is currently with England. 8 teams in India, Australia, Afghanistan, New Zealand, Pakistan, England, Bangladesh and South Africa have directly qualified for the tournament and will be joined by the two teams from the Qualifiers.

The other takeaway from BCCI’s SGM was that Grant Thornton will work with the governing body to upgrade 15 stadiums for the 2023 ICC World Cup. Upgrading the grounds at the famous Wankhede and Chepauk Stadium is already underway.
