CSK is in the tenth and final place in the IPL 2025 classification.
The chief coach of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Stephen Fleming, admitted that the bad shape of his team in IPL 2025 has meant that the entire team has played a crucial role to play in the tournament. Chennai Super Kings is tenth and last in the IPL 2025 classification with only two victories in seven games.
The problems for the five times champions do not end there. The regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has been discarded from the IPL 2025 due to an injury and, as a result, Mrs. Dhoni has assumed the position of captain again. Ayush Mhatre teenage sensation has been named as Gaikwad replacement.
Stephen Fleming about CSK’s concerns
In another development, the young South African Dewald Brevis recently replaced the injured Gurjapneet Singh in the team. “Our results to date have put all the team members to the match,” Fleming said at the press conference prior to the match before Chennai Super Kings clash against the Mumbai Indians.

“It has been our tradition in the past to continue with more experienced players and have given us the results we are looking for. But when you do not get the results you are looking for, all the team members, their philosophies are tested and you have certainly seen by the addition of players and the use of players that we will use more players this year in the squad than what we have done before,” he added.
Fleming says that CSK promised until the end
Fleming reiterated the commitment of Chennai Super Kings until the end of the tournament, insinuating that they will simply not give up. “Once again, we are still in the mixture with this tournament, but if things do not go well and there are many games that we can see, how we advance in a positive way, but we are still very focused on being part of this tournament until the end,” added the former New Zealand captain.
The yellow men began their IPL 2025 campaign with a four wickt victory over the Mumbai Indians in Chennai. However, they lost five games in the trot, before beating Lucknow Super Giants in their last game.
