X fans reacted after Indian captain Rohit Sharma got a golden duck in the ongoing second T20I against Afghanistan. The match between the two teams will take place at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, where India won the toss and opted to play first.
After India beat Afghanistan by 172 runs, Rohit Sharma did not have a great outing in the match as he hit a golden duck and this marked the second consecutive 0 in the series. He tried to be aggressive but in the process saw his stumps castle.
During the fifth ball of the first over, Fazalhaq Farooqi bowled a length ball to which the batsman tried to cross the line. The length was not there to execute the shot but he had already decided to play the shot.
The ball sneaked under Rohit Sharma’s swinging blade and hit the top of the stump. He was dejected when he came out and Fazalhaq Farooqi was excited along with the rest of the Afghanistan players.
Rohit Sharma’s comeback series in T20Is is turning out torrid for him. The batsman was involved in a mix-up with Shubman Gill and bagged a two-run duck in the first game. To make matters even worse, he now has another low score under his belt.
Rohit Sharma’s return to T20I was not received well by many, there was a lot of negative reaction. Many did not want to return to the series and now that he has got two ducks in two games, things will not be easy for him. With the 2024 T20 World Cup just around the corner, it remains to be seen what the future holds for him now.
