As India takes on Afghanistan in the second T20I of the three-match series in Indore, Indian opener Shubman Gill was dropped from the team while Yashasvi Jaiswal witnessed a comeback. India won the first match in Mohali very convincingly by six wickets and Shivam Dube starred in the match by playing an unbeaten 60 runs.
Shubman Gill He scored 23 runs off 12 balls in the first T20I match and hit a total of five fours. However, he too had a horrible mix-up with captain Rohit Sharma that resulted in his wicket. Sharma played the ball towards the middle region and called for a run towards Gill. While Shubman was looking at the ball, Gill did not respond to Rohit’s call and the Indian captain reached mid-field.
While Shubman Gill remained at the non-striker side, Rohit Sharma he sacrificed his wicket for Gill and was dismissed for a duck. However, Rohit was very angry because Shubman was not happy with his gesture on the field.
The second T20I match also marks the return of Indian batsman Virat Kohli, who returns in the shortest international format after 14 months. His last T20I appearance for India was during the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final against England.
The second IND vs AFG T20I match is India’s penultimate match before the T20 World Cup 2024. India would look to win the match and seal the series. This is also the last chance for the Indian team to decide their last 15 for the upcoming T20 World Cup, although some players will be tested in the Indian Premier League.

A generational talent like Shubman Gill never deserves this kind of treatment. For giving a 37-year-old a chance, you benched Gill?
