the 30 year old Indian National Cricket Team All-rounder Shivam Dube was the shining light for his team in the second T20I of the three-match series against the Afghanistan National Cricket Team at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Sunday, January 14.
Dube was one of the key reasons behind the Rohit Sharma-led team’s victory in the first two T20I matches against Ibrahim Zadran-led Afghanistan. He put up a marvelous performance with both bat and ball in both the matches and helped India seal victories and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
In both the matches, Shivam Dube took one wicket and remained unbeaten to lead India to victory. In the first game, he scored an unbeaten 60 runs and in the second, he scored 63 runs off 32 balls, with 5 fours and 4 sixes.
Dube played wonderful knocks in the second T20I in Indore and made the bowlers look clueless. He timed the ball perfectly and smashed some sensational boundaries in the match. His finest moment came when he launched an attack on veteran Mohammad Nabi, hitting three consecutive sixes to eliminate Afghanistan from the match.
Many expected him to end the match with a boundary, but it did not happen as he took a single-leg dismissal off the fourth ball of the 16th over, which was bowled by Fazalhaq Farooqi, to complete the easy chase.
After the match, two Afghan players, who seemed impressed with the all-rounder, were seen checking Shivam Dube’s bat. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the clip of India’s match-winning moment on their X and in the video, the Afghanistan stars are seen saying something to Dube while he was checking his bat.
