IND vs AFG: We will carry WC momentum – Naveen-ul-Haq issues warning to India ahead of T20Is

Afghan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq issued a strong warning to the Indian team ahead of the T20I series between the teams. He said they will carry the momentum of the ICC World Cup 2023 and they are sure that they will do well in the series.

Afghanistan is all set to face India in the three-match T20I series. The series will begin on January 11 in Mohali, followed by a second match to be played in Indore on January 14. The last match is scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on January 17.

It promises to be an exciting series as Afghanistan in recent years have improved their game and shown magnificent performances. India, on the other hand, has named a full-fledged team and the competition between bat and ball is expected to be high.

Naveen-ul-Haq will be Afghanistan’s key player in the series. He has earned a reputation as a T20 expert and has gained huge exposure playing in leagues around the world. He is expected to lead the bowling attack in all three games.

With Rashid Khan ruled out of the series, Naveen-ul-Haq becomes extremely important for the team. His ability to swing the new ball and bowl it slower in the overs and death would be necessary for Afghanistan. If his team has to figure out their chances of winning, he must step up.

Naveen-ul-Haq is feeling quite confident ahead of the series. He said Afghanistan is the dominant team in the T20 format and is confident of doing well against India. The pacer also has his eyes set on the T20 World Cup 2024. Speaking to TOI, he explained:

“Afghanistan is famous for T20 cricket. Afghanistan dominates when it comes to T20 cricket. We are very confident after a good show in the ODI World Cup. “We are confident that we will maintain the same momentum in the next series (vs India) and later in the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the United States.”

Naveen-ul-Haq spoke more about his preparations for the India series. He said they are well prepared and are working hard to achieve their goal. The fast bowler is fully confident that his team will be ready come the 2024 T20 World Cup. He explained:

“We have prepared very well. We are all working hard to achieve the goal. We have some series before the World Cup,including the India series, and we will be ready when the World Cup comes.”

Afghanistan will be one of the teams to watch out for in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. They have played sensational cricket and were at the top of the game in the 2023 World Cup where they defeated the likes of England and Pakistan. . They would hope to deliver an even better performance in the next tournament and make a strong statement.
