Former Indian cricket team fast bowler S. Sreesanth recently picked his all-time ideal XI, comprising of players from across the world.
It included five Indian players, including himself, two Pakistani players and one player each from Australia, Bangladesh, West Indies and South Africa.
The former bowler named Sourav Ganguly as the captain of his team. Notably, he did not include any wicketkeeper-batsman in his team.
The former pacer did not pick players from England, Sri Lanka and New Zealand. A video of Sreesanth picking his all-time best XI has gone viral on social media.

In a conversation with Sportskeeda, the former Indian player picked Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Harbhajan Singh and himself.
All of these players are known for their aggressive play on the cricket field. He also selected Ricky Ponting as the only Australian in his all-time best XI.
The former cricketer’s all-time best XI includes Shoaib Akhtar and Shahid Afridi of the Pakistan national cricket team.
His team also features Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh, Kieron Pollard of the West Indies and Andre Nel of South Africa.

He picked Gautam Gambhir as the opener along with Virat Kohli. He mentioned, “Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli will be the openers.” It is worth mentioning that Kohli started his international career as an opener with Gambhir. Ricky Ponting is positioned at number three in the batting order.
Sourav Ganguly is fourth in the line-up. The Kerala-born cricketer also picked Sourav as captain, with Ricky Ponting as his deputy. Sreesanth placed Shahid Afridi at number five, followed by all-rounders Shakib Al Hasan and Kieron Pollard at number six and number seven respectively.

The former player was handed a life ban by the BCCI for his alleged involvement in the 2013 IPL match-fixing scandal, which was later reduced to a 7-year ban..
His ban ended in September 2020 and he rejoined the Kerala team in 2021. However, the fast bowler announced his retirement in 2022.
During his IPL career, from 2008 to 2013, he played for Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals. His career was marred by the match-fixing scandal in 2013.
