Aakash Chopra said on Raj Shamani’s podcast on YouTube, “Gautam is someone who once got into a fight with a truck driver in Delhi. He got out of his car and climbed onto the truck to grab the driver by the collar of his shirt because he had taken a wrong turn and was abusing him. I was like, ‘Gauti, what are you doing?’ So that made him Gautam.”
Chopra mentioned that Gambhir was an incredibly hard-working cricketer, but at the same time, he also described the former World Cup winner as having a “hot temper.” Gambhir was one of the top-ranked batsmen during his era, and has now been tasting success as a coach.
He said goodbye saying: “A passionate guy. A hard worker when it comes to his craft. A bit serious, but he scored a lot of runs. He always wore his heart on his sleeve. As for his temperament, he can be very irascible. But everyone has a different character.”
