The Indian national cricket team players are giving all their sweat and blood to prepare for the Test series against the Bangladesh national cricket team. The two-match Test series between the teams will begin on September 19 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The home team assembled in Chennai on Thursday (September 12) and began their preparations on Friday (September 13). The Rohit Sharma-led team is giving their best and is making sure that they leave no stone unturned in their preparation for the opening match of the series.
On Saturday (September 14), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared footage from the team’s players’ practice session. In the video that has gone viral on the internet, the Indian players can be seen making the most of the net sessions.
The batsmen, including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, were also seen working hard, while the bowlers, including Jasprit Bumrah, were also seen working hard. They were seen working with new bowling coach Morne Morkel, who was keen to observe the bowlers at the Madras Stadium ahead of the first Test against Bangladesh.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted the video on its social media with the caption: “Preparations in full swing here in Chennai! Getting closer to the first Test match #INDvsBAN.”

The series will be important for both teams in the context of the ICC World Test Championship. While India sits at the top of the table, the Bangladesh National Cricket Team takes fourth place after having recently defeated the Pakistan National Cricket Team in a two-match Test series.
Front-line players Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja, who were rested for the Sri Lanka series, will return to the squad after the 2024 T20 World Cup. They will want to make a big impact on their return to the team after a long break.
On the other hand, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant and Akash Deep played in the 2024 Duleep Trophy. They had decent outings for their respective teams and would want to continue their good form in international cricket and help the team win and grab important points from the World Test Championship.
This will be the first time that the Rohit Sharma-led side will play Test cricket since March this year. The Men in Blue took on the England National Cricket Team in the five-match Test series. They won the game by a 4-1 margin and will want to continue their good form in the Bangladesh Tests.
There were reports claiming that the hosts are unlikely to prepare any position-shifting players for the first Test against Chennai. They want their two best pacers, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, to play and it is learnt that the pitch at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai is likely to provide help to both the pace bowlers and the spin bowlers.
