IND vs BAN: Rohit Sharma sensationally unmasked by Jonty Rhodes: "How ridiculous…."

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) coach Jonty Rhodes revealed the true personality of Indian national cricket team captain Rohit Sharma for the world to see during a recent interaction.

Rohit Sharma is considered one of the greatest Indian cricketers of all time and has done an exceptional job since becoming the full-time captain of the team.

He recently ended India’s ICC trophy drought by leading the team to victory at the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Following the conclusion of the competition, he announced his retirement from T20Is but continues to lead the team in Test and ODI cricket.

Rohit’s next target would be to clinch an ICC 50-overs trophy, with the ICC Champions Trophy just around the corner, having lost the 50-overs title when India faced a heartbreaking defeat against Australia at home in the ICC World Cup 2023.

Moreover, Rohit Sharma will have the opportunity to add the ICC World Test Championship title to his list of achievements as the final of the competition will be played in June 2025 at Lord’s. India are currently ranked No. 1 on the ICC World Test Championship points table and with the massive Test season coming up, India will have a great chance of qualifying for the final.

I mean he hasn’t changed at all, he’s so ridiculous, you know? – Jonty Rhodes on Rohit Sharma

Meanwhile, Jonty Rhodes, who worked with Rohit Sharma at Mumbai Indians, recently spoke about the Indian captain. He said that Rohit Sharma does not have the best batting technique but he is so successful because he is always relaxed.

Jonty Rhodes also spoke about Rohit Sharma’s behaviour towards his teammates, saying that he keeps playing with the players and does not let the cricketers get stressed.

“I mean he hasn’t changed at all, it’s ridiculous, you know. I imagine the way he walked when he came out to bat and he had some pitches in the net or even shadow hits, you know, he was just majestic, so he didn’t practice as hard as such.

“He’s maybe practised outside the nets at times, but it’s just because of his technical ability and I think he doesn’t always have the best technique. He’s been criticised, he doesn’t have much footwork, but because he’s so relaxed in the crease, his hands flow so well, and it’s been great to watch because he’s stayed, you know, stayed the same and stayed true to himself,” Jonty Rhodes said on YouTube channel Aleena Dissects, as quoted by SportsTak.

“Rohit Sharma is still the same guy, he hasn’t changed at all, he is so goofy, he picks on his teammates, he is a fun guy and the players don’t feel stressed under his captaincy,” Jonty added.

A major change could also happen in Rohit Sharma’s IPL career as he is reportedly set to leave Mumbai Indians after being sacked from the captaincy last season.

Notably, MI named Hardik Pandya as Rohit Sharma’s successor and things did not go as they had imagined as Mumbai Indians finished last in the IPL 2024.
