India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has picked legendary cricketers MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as his three favourites at present. Suryakumar Yadav will be in action in the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, which will be played after the upcoming Test series.

While Dhoni has retired from international cricket, the other two players, Kohli and Rohit, are still playing. Suryakumar Yadav picks MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as his favourite cricketers

During a chat with Star Sports, Suryakumar Yadav named MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as his favourite cricketers at the moment. While Suryakumar has not played alongside Dhoni, he has played a slew of matches with Kohli and Rohit.

“Mahi Bhai (MS Dhoni), Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are my current favourite cricketers,” said Suryakumar Yadav.

Dhoni, Kohli and Rohit have been mainstays of Indian cricket over the last two decades. All three have captained India during their respective careers. Currently, Rohit Sharma is the captain of India in the Test and ODI formats.

MS Dhoni is considered one of the best finishers the game has ever seen. Although he bats primarily in the lower order, he has bailed India out of many tight situations in the past with his late-game batting. As captain, Dhoni has probably been India’s most successful captain so far. He has led India to win the T20 World Cup (2007), ODI World Cup (2011) and the Champions Trophy (2013).

Kohli replaced Dhoni first as Test captain and then as white-ball captain as well. Under Kohli, India emerged as a powerhouse in overseas conditions. As a batsman, Kohli is one of the most successful batsmen across all formats.

The 35-year-old averages over 48 across all formats and has scored 80 international hundreds. Kohli is just behind Sachin Tendulkar in the list of most hundreds in international cricket.

Meanwhile, Rohit has been a talismanic batsman for India over the years. He made his debut in 2007 but his career shot to prominence after the 2013 Champions Trophy when he was promoted to open the innings. Rohit’s ability to put bowlers under pressure in the powerplay is second to none.

At his best, Rohit can destroy any bowling attack in the world. Currently, he is at the top of the list of batsmen with the most sixes in international cricket. Under Rohit Sharma, India won the 2024 T20 World Cup title and finished as runners-up in the 2023 ODI World Cup.
