The IND vs ENG Rajkot Body will resume on Day 2 with India at 326/6. Ravindra Jadeja is unbeaten on 110 and with him is Kuldeep Yadav, who has been sent as a night watchman.

India made 4 changes to their playing XI ahead of this Test. Dhruv Jural and Sarfaraz Khan made their international debuts, while Mohd Siraj replaced Mukesh Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja replaced Axar Patel.

Team India was rocked early by England and reduced to 33/3 in the first hour. It was then that Rohit and Jadeja came together and put up a 204-run stand to bring India back into the game. They dug deep and scored at a good pace. India did not lose any wicket in the second session.

Mark Wood dismissed Rohit for 131 in the third and last over. Sarfaraz Khan on his Test debut scored a brave 62 off 66 deliveries and added a run of 77 with Ravindra Jadeja.

Unfortunately, the debutant was run out in India’s 82nd innings due to miscommunication with Jadeja. However, by then he had already played a more than important role in advancing India’s innings. Jadeja scored his fourth Test ton and remained unbeaten at stumps.

England’s bowlers were impressive, especially Mark Wood, who was able to make wickets on a good batting track on the first day at Rankot. He looked the most threatening English bowlers and played according to his captain’s plans. James Anderson had a wicketless day despite bowling 19 overs.

Ben Stokes made quick changes in bowling and fielding and dismissed Rohit Sharma with the short ball strategy. After dropping many deliveries, Rohit finally tried to get one that didn’t have the good end of the bat, resulting in his dismissal.

India will look to pile on as many as possible on Day 2, with Dhruv Jurel and Ravichandran Ashwin yet to arrive. Jadeja becomes key from now on and needs to forge important alliances with the lower order. Conditions are still expected to be good for batting with runs in store on Day 2.

IND vs ENG Day 2 Weather Report & Rajkot Test Launch Report, 2024

Rajkot’s pitch was considered by television commentators to be the best batting pitch of the series so far. Despite that, youngsters Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaisal could not take advantage of the conditions. The partnership of Rohit and Jadeja showed that the wicket was good for batting and needs application. There was enough evidence of this wicket having been activated to keep the spinners interested. Mark Wood will be a threat given the way he bowled on Day 1.

Talking about the weather conditions for day 2 of the second IND vs ENG test, the temperature will be around 35 degrees throughout the day with the sun blazing throughout the entire game day. As always, the first hour will be crucial for the batting team and the overnight humidity on the wicket is expected to play a role. Batting conditions will be better in the second session. There is no chance of rain on the second day.
