My friends told me that I have been selected – Dhruv Jurel
Dhruv Jurel mentioned that his friends informed him about his selection for the Indian Test team for the England series. He added that his family was excited to hear about his inclusion along with senior batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
“My friends told me that I was selected for the England series. I was very happy. I have performed well for India A. But I did not think about my selection for the senior team. I just focused on performing well,” Dhurv told Dainik Jagran.
“When I told my dad, he was ecstatic. He asked me which Indian team I had been selected for. I said ‘the one with Rohit (Sharma) bhaiya and Virat (Kohli) bhaiya’. “It was an emotional moment for the whole family.”
Jurel represents the Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The young batsman showed commendable performances for RR during the 2023 season. He scored 152 runs in 13 matches with an impressive strike rate of 172.73.
I would try to learn as much as possible – Dhruv Jurel
Dhruv Jurel said he hopes to share the dressing room with cricketing heroes like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and head coach Rahul Dravid, aiming to learn as much as he can from the experience.
“I don’t worry about others. “I just want to focus on my game and keep believing.”
“I really don’t know what to say. I will share a dressing room with the heroes I have seen on television. This will be a completely different experience. I would try to learn as much as possible,” Jurel said.
KL Rahul assumed the role of wicketkeeper in the Test series against South Africa. However, he might struggle against spinners adept at spinning pitches. This could have contributed to Jurel’s selection in the Test team, marking a dream moment for him.
