X fans react after wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan missed the Indian team for the two test matches against England. The Rohit Sharma-led team will host the Three Lions in five matches starting January 25.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday (January 12) announced the Indian team for the first two Tests against England. One of the notable exclusions from the team was that of the young and dynamic Ishan Kishan.
Here, BCCI has called up wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel for the first time and also KS Bharat has been retained in the team as a wicketkeeper along with KL Rahul. Since the last few weeks, there have been a lot of talks and rumors surrounding Ishan Kishan.
Ishan Kishan withdrew from the Test series against South Africa citing mental fatigue and also did not appear in the T20I series against Afghanistan. There were reports suggesting that the BCCI expelled Kishan from the team on disciplinary grounds.
Reports stated that Ishan Kishan was seen partying in Dubai and also attended the television contest when he cited mental fatigue. This did not go well with the BCCI as he was dropped from the team and it was reportedly learned that it could hamper even future selections.
But head coach Rahul Dravid recently confirmed that there was no disciplinary action and Ishan Kishan was not picked for the Afghanistan T20Is as he was unavailable. But with the wicketkeeper-batsman not making the squad for the England Tests, he has once again sparked some rumours.
