According to PTI reports, India national cricket team The all-rounder Hardik Pandya and star batsman Shubman Gill could be rested for the upcoming series of white balls against the Ireland National Cricket Team.
Team India is set to tour Ireland for a short three-match T20I series. The matches are scheduled to take place at the Malahide in Dublin on 18, 20 and 23 August.

The BCCI is reportedly planning to manage the workloads of T20I captain Hardik Pandya and opener Shubman Gill considering the busy year in which the 2023 Asian Cup and 2023 World Cup will be played.
Hardik is one of India’s leading members in the cue ball format. He has been in charge of the team in T20I since last year’s World Cup and is also the vice-captain of the ODI team. On the other hand, Gill has quickly established himself as an all-format player for India and has been playing regularly.
India to be led by new captain on tour of Ireland if Hardik Pandya is rested
A BCCI source said the final decision on Hardik’s participation in Ireland’s T20Is has yet to be taken, but considering the packed schedule, he could be well rested for the series.
”Nothing is finalized yet and it will also depend on how Hardik feels after the one-dayers and T20s in the West Indies. There is travel involved and only a short turnaround time of three days before one flies from Florida to Dublin.
“Since the World Cup is of paramount importance, one has to take into account their workload. Let’s not forget that he will be Rohit’s substitute in the World Cup,” a BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity.

Should India decide to rest Hardik, a new captain will lead the team in the short T20I series against Ireland. Earlier, some reports had also claimed that the support staff led by VVS Laxman will help the Men In Blue on tour as the coaching staff led by Rahul Dravid is likely to be rested.
Meanwhile, Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya are currently in the Caribbean for the all-format series against the West Indies. Gill is currently participating in the second test, while Hardik Pandya will be in action once he starts the white ball series.
The ODIs will take place on July 27, July 29 and August 1. While the T20I matches are scheduled for August 3, 6, 8, 12 and 13.
