IND vs SA: “Kuch Toh Jeetna Banta Hai…” – Rohit Sharma issues massive warning to South Africa after World Cup damage

India suffered a heartbreaking defeat against Australia in the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. A dejected Rohit Sharma was left in tears after the loss in the final. He took a month off before returning to the field. Rohit Sharma has put everything aside for now and his main focus is the two-match Test series against South Africa starting on December 26 at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.

Rohit Sharma has had a tough couple of months with India losing the World Cup and being removed as captain of the Mumbai Indians. However, when he attended the press conference ahead of the first Test between India and South Africa, he was optimistic about the victory and in high spirits. Rohit Sharma spoke to the media about how he won the first Test series in South Africa. However, he said even a victory in a Test series here might not ease the pain of a defeat in the World Cup final.

He said that after working so hard, at least India deserves to win something. Rohit Sharma leads the team for the first time in a Test series in SENA countries. He has a chance to create history by winning the series and becoming the first Indian skipper to win a Test series in South Africa.

“We have never won a series here and it will be something very important if we do it here. I don’t know if it can ease the pain of defeat in the World Cup. If we are able to achieve this, it will be a good thing. Itna mehnat Kiya hai toh kuch toh jitna banta hai (we have worked so hard that we should at least win something),” Sharma said at the press conference.

Rohit Sharma does not have a good record in South Africa

Rohit Sharma’s Test record in South Africa is a cause of concern for the Indian team. The Indian captain has played four Test matches in South Africa and has only managed to amass 123 runs without scoring a single fifty-plus score. In this series he has to prove his worth as a batsman and also as a captain. Rohit will open the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal.

This series is a great opportunity for Rohit Sharma to etch his name in the history of Indian cricket. He will look to win the Test series and this time he has a great chance with the Indian team in good form and South Africa inexperienced in both batting and bowling. The top six of the Proteas lineup are currently fragile and Team India should take advantage of these situations and look to win the match.
