Sanju Samson finally grabbed his chance as he performed a sensational knock in the match against South Africa. The batsman came in to bat as India lost the first two matches early and were reeling at 49/2.
That’s when Sanju Samson took over the fort and entered the innings. The wicketkeeper-batsman got the team out of trouble and made sure he was fully prepared before unleashing at Boland Park in Paarl.
Sanju Samson first settled in and took runs with ease. He ensured that his team did not lose wickets at regular intervals like he did in the last game. He formed a crucial partnership with Tilak Varma (52) and put the team in a strong position in what has been a complicated tone. He too He became the first cricketer from Kerala to score a hundred in international cricket.
Sanju Samson scored his first international ton in 110 balls and helped India surpass 230 runs on the board with ease. This ton would mean a lot to the keeper-batsman because he doesn’t get consistent opportunities in the team as the other batsmen performed well.
Sanju Samson finished with 108 runs off 114 balls. He batted with a strike rate of around 95 and hit 6 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. He was killed by Lizaad Williams when she tried to confront him, but was caught. The right-hander, who batted at No. 3, would have sent a strong message to the selectors for future games. He has a great record in ODIs as he has an average of over 56 with 3 fifties and 1 century to his name in 14 innings.
