Indian batsman Virat Kohli also won hearts off the field during the Test series between team India and South Africa. The batsman entertained the crowd throughout and was the center of attraction of the entire series.

Virat Kohli had a great outing with the bat and was one of the main reasons why India tied the series against South Africa. The batsman played a magnificent innings and got his team out of trouble when they were in difficult situations.

While he was a class apart on the field, the batsman was also at the top of the field. He gave his signed jersey to South African spinner Keshav Maharaj. The Proteas player revealed about the development by posting a photo with the Indian batsman.

Keshav Maharaj thanked Virat Kohli for gifting him his jersey and said it was a gift for the wall. In the picture posted by the spinner, he can be seen standing with Kohli in the batsman’s jersey. On the shirt you can see written: “To Keshav with my best wishes.” along with Kohli’s signature at the bottom.

Keshav Maharaj posted the image with the caption: “One for the wall, thank you Virat Kohli.”

Here is the post:

Keshav Maharaj did not get a chance to bowl in the second Test. The match was dominated by the pacers who took all the wickets. The spinner did not play in the first game and was expected to make an impact in the second.

But with the kind of proposal that was in Cape Town, it was not necessary at all. The pitch was a nightmare for the batsmen, but the fast bowlers would have enjoyed bowling on the surface, making the game over in just 4 and a half sessions.

It was the shortest Test match in the history of the game, lasting just 642 balls. On day 1 of the game they fell as many as 23 wickets and all to pacers. South Africa were bowled out for just 55 runs in their first innings and then India too had a torrid outing.

The visitors came out with just 153 runs, taking a lead of 98 runs. In the second innings, South Africa performed better but could not go beyond 200 runs as they were bowled out for 176 runs, setting India a target of 79 runs.

India, although lost three wickets in the chase, won the game with 7 wickets in hand. With their victory, the series ended in a draw and it was the first time since 2010 that India drew the series on Proteas soil.
