Virat Kohli looked in good touch and played excellent innings. He scored 46 runs and kept India in the game as wickets continued to fall at the other end. He continued his golden touch from the last game, where he scored 38 and 76. His knock came at the crucial moment when India lost Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, who were well placed.

After Virat Kohli got out, the wickets fell in an instant. From 153/4 India went to 153/10. Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada were the key architects behind the Indian collapse. They picked three wickets each in two overs and concluded the batting innings in no time.

Apart from Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada, Nandre Burger also bagged three wickets. South Africa played exceptionally well in the third session and had their tails high. Thanks to the heroics of the players, they conceded a lead of just 98 runs.
