India’s problems with the bat during the first IND vs SA Test match continued as the team lost its eighth wicket in the form of Jasprit Bumrah. No one other than Indian batsman Virat Kohli could take on the South African bowlers and they returned to the hut leaving in one of the most disgusting ways.
During the second ball of the 31st over, Virat Kohli pushed the ball through the extra cover region where Kohli asked for two runs immediately after hitting the ball.
However, this time there were not two races. The ball went straight to Dean Elgar, where he flicked a shot wide to Kagiso Rabada on the non-striker’s side. Bumrah could not reach the ground and ran out of water.
While Virat Kohli looked helpless, Jasprit Bumrah did not look happy as he walked back to the dressing room.

The Indian team was 62/3 at Tea on Day 3 and just after the start of play, they lost their next six wickets for 59 runs. India lost their ninth wicket for 121 and now look like they are on the verge of an innings defeat.
The match has been totally dominated by the South African team as from the beginning of the first innings the Indian batsmen had no idea how to play against the Proteas players. Indian captain Rohit Sharma lost his wicket to an absolute beauty from Kagiso Rabada, while Yashasvi Jaiswal too could not do much and got out to Nandre Burger.
Shubman Gill looked good and had hit six boundaries, but he played the wrong line off Marco Jansen and lost his furniture. The same thing happened in the case of Shreyas Iyer, who was trying to hit a high shot but was eventually castled by Jansen.
Virat Kohli has been the only fighter in the second innings and has completed his half-century. However, the right-handed batsman did not receive any support from the other end, leaving India on the verge of an embarrassing defeat.
Dean Elgar and Kagiso Rabada were the main villains of the Indian cricket team in the first Test as it was Rabada’s fife with the ball and Elgar’s 185 with the bat that hurt the visitors the most in the Centurion Test .
India are yet to win a Test series in South Africa and given the current situation, they may have to wait for another tour to fulfill their dream. It has been 31 years since India toured South Africa, but each time the Proteas have played better than the Indians at home.
Also, Dean Elgar will be playing his last Test series for South Africa and will want to end his career by winning the series.
The second Test match of the series will be played from January 3 at the Sahara Park Newlands in Cape Town. After losing the Centurion Test, they will focus on leveling the series in Cape Town.
