IND vs SA: Watch – Jasprit Bumrah’s ‘Toe Crusher’ cleans up Nandre Burger

Jasprit Bumrah finished things off for the South African team in their first innings as the Proteas finished with 408 runs. Nandre Burger was the latest South African batsman to fall for a duck and he was cleaned up by a brilliant yorker from Jasprit Bumrah.

The wicket came on the fourth ball of 109 when Jasprit Bumrah bowled a ball straight into the block hole and Nandre Burger had no idea about it. Bumrah ended the innings with a four-wicket haul while captain Temba Bavuma did not come out to bat.

South Africa ends the first innings with 408 runs

South Africa currently leads by 163 runs in their first innings against India and now the hosts will have to put up a special batting display if they are to have a chance of winning the match.

The first innings belonged to South African opener Dean Elgar as he scored his 14th Test hundred. This is the last time Elgar will represent South Africa in a Test series. Elgar has been one of the most underrated players and has led his team to many famous victories.

Apart from Elgar, Marco Jansen remains the standout player of the South African innings as he was unbeaten on 84 runs. Jansen hit a total of 11 fours and one six in his entire innings. David Bedingham also played some brilliant shots and scored 56 runs off 87 balls. Bedingham hit a total of seven fours and two sixes during his knock.

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah was the standout player for the Indian side and finished the South African first innings with figures of 4/69 in 26.4 overs. Mohammed Siraj picked up 2 wickets, while Prasidh Krishna, Shardul Thakur and Ravichandran Ashwin picked up one wicket a piece.

Indian pacers Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna were the weak links in the Indian attack during the first innings and gave close to five runs an over. Both players bowled a lot of loose balls to the Proteas batsmen and made it easy for South Africa to bat.

The Indian batsmen will also learn a lot from South Africa as they played their best game during the innings while the Indian batsmen came out playing defensive shots. Apart from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli, no other Indian batsman could impress in the match.

Since the Indian team has a huge lead to cover in front of them, the visitors must put up a strong batting display from the first innings and set a huge target for the Proteas in the second innings.

This is a solid partnership that can push back the South African team and also pave the way for India to win the match.

India had defeated South Africa when they faced them in Centurion last time and can now repeat the performance once again in 2023.
