South African batsman Aiden Markram fought tooth and nail to keep his team in the hunt in the ongoing second Test against India. The game between two teams meet in the series decider at Newlands Park in Cape Town.
Aiden Markram played a crucial role in South Africa taking a lead of over 60 runs in the second innings. The batsman from the very beginning stepped into the crease on Day 2 looked positive and continued from where he left off last night, playing with an attacking mentality.
Aiden Markram first made sure to end the deficit and once South Africa took the lead, he attacked the players and smashed them all over the park. However, the 50-over lead would not have happened if KL Rahul had trapped the batsman to put his team on top.
During the third ball of the 28th over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a good length ball towards Aiden Markram. The batsman tried to hit it, but the ball rose sharply and caught the outside edge of the bat. The ball rose slightly towards goalkeeper KL Rahul and it looked like he would take it with ease.
However, KL Rahul made a mess of it. The ball slipped out of his hand and he couldn’t even catch it on the second attempt. Aiden Markram was batting on 73 at that time and if he had caught that time, he could have saved at least 20-25 runs for India.

Aiden Markram made most of the catch and then broke free and threw players all over the park. In the next over after the fall, the batsman hit 20 runs against Prasidh Krishna and put his team on top of the game.
Aiden Markram then raced towards his century and ensured that South Africa gained a lead of over 60 runs. The batsman played magnificent shots in his innings and seemed unfazed by the amount of bounce and uneven pace on the field. His knock would surely be rated as one of the best in the history of South African cricket.

After Aiden Markram hit his social class, it seemed like it would put India under more pressure. But Mohammed Siraj made sure his team got back into the game. The fast bowler bowled a good length delivery outside off. The batsman tried to fight but the ball went out of bounds.
The ball took the thick edge of Aiden Markram’s bat and launched it upward. Skipper Rohit Sharma, who was at long-on, took an easy catch and was encouraged after that. He hit the ball on the grass because he was frustrated with the way Aiden Markam was hitting.
Aiden Markram scored 106 runs off 103 balls. He hit 17 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. He put in a lot of effort for his team and made sure his players had something to defend.
