Mohammed Siraj has brought India back into the game when it seemed like nothing was going right in the ongoing game against South Africa. The first match of the two-match series between the teams will be played at the Supersport Park in Centurion.
South Africa have been excellent with the bat in response to India’s 245. Thanks to Dean Elgar and David Bedingham. The duo got the team out of trouble after they lost the first few wickets and took the game away from India with their sensational 100-plus partnership.
They stood like a rock at the crease and it didn’t look like India could pick any wickets. But Mohammed Siraj showed them the light after the big tunnel. It surely took something special to get rid of David Bedingham and the Indian pacer did exactly that.
Mohammed Siraj bowled a full delivery over the stumps. The ball slipped through the gap between bat and pad and then broke the stumps. David Bedingham lost his rhythm when the middle stump was knocked down.

David Bedingham played an excellent innings on debut. The batsman scored a sensational half-century and brought his team back into the game after losing the first few wickets. The right-hander scored 56 runs off 87 and put pressure on the Indian bowlers.
Mohammed Siraj finally got the reward of some good bowling. He tried hard and beat hitters several times. However, his luck did not favor him as the ball failed to reach the boundary. His good bowling was rewarded with the scalp of David Bedingham.
IND vs SA: After Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna also attacks
Mohammed Siraj had the wonderful support of Prasidh Krishna. The pacer removed wicketkeeper-batsman Kyle Verreynne. The Karnataka fast bowler bowled a short and long delivery outside off. The batsman tried to cut him from behind and failed.
India were confident that Kyle Verreynne got the ball and opted for DRS as the referee did not deliver it. The ultra-edge rain set in when the batsman had to undertake the long walk back to the Pavilion. He scored just 4 runs off 7 balls and his wicket saw the Proteas reel at 249/5.
Dean Elagar, on the other hand, has been the wall in the match against India. The batsman has played a magnificent innings and has not put a foot wrong. The first batter has taken the blows to the body, but he makes sure to stay there to take his team to the big lead.
South Africa took the lead in the first innings and still have 5 wickets in hand. India would hope to take wickets at the earliest. Elgar, who bats at 140*, holds the key to his team. If the visitors managed to take their ground early, then they will be able to gain some momentum and get back on track. Bad light forced the umpires to make early decisions on Day 2. The day belonged to South Africa as they ended the day on 256/5 and are 11 runs ahead of the Indian team.
