Shreyas Iyer did not look comfortable in the second innings of the ongoing second Test against South Africa. The match between the teams will take place at the Supersport Park in Centurion.

India is fighting hard in the second innings in South Africa. Things are not looking too good for them as the Proteas pacer keeps the intensity high. They picked three wickets in no time and Shreyas Iyer, who had a decent outing in the first innings, was expected to bowl well in the second Test.

Shreyas Iyer looked irritated from the start of the innings and was bowled several times in the short stay at the crease. His wicket seemed to be in play, but it was not expected to come so early.

Marco Jansen threw a full delivery that went in with the angle. Shreyas Iyer played for a straighter line and got an inside advantage. The ball entered the boots and came back to hit the post.

Here is the video:

Shreyas Iyer scored just 6 runs in 12 balls and managed just one in four of his innings. The batsman had a decent outing in the first innings as he added 31 runs and got the team out of trouble as they lost three early wickets.

This time something similar was expected of him. He needed to stay there and provide support to Virat Kohli. The senior batsman single-handedly keeps India in the game but gets no support from the other end.

IND vs SA: After Shreyas Iyer, India also loses KL Rahul

India is in serious trouble in the game. After Shreyas Iyer’s dismissal, KL Rahul joined hands with Virat Kohli. The keeper-batsman looked good but he too lost his wicket and the hosts came under immense pressure.

KL Rahul died at Nandre Burger. The fast bowler bowled a full outside off that went a tad away. The batsman played a great drive and the ball caught the outside edge, which was caught by Aiden Markram at slips. The keeper-batsman perished in just 4 runs off 24 balls.

After his wicket, India lost Ravichandran Ashwin off the next ball. If this was not enough, Shardul Thakur also got out and India reeled at 105/7. Jasprit Bumrah was also run out and the Proteas are just two wickets away from winning the game. Now the onus is on Virat Kohli to bring his team closer to South Africa’s total and perhaps gain an advantage.

Virat Kohli has batted superbly well so far in the second innings. He has looked the most settled Indian batsman in the innings. The right-hander has played some accurate shots in the innings and improved on his half-century.

South Africa would be eager to take their wicket and if they manage to take it, it would mean that the Proteas are likely to win. They are bowling at full pace and intensity and it looks like every ball will be a wicket-taking delivery.
