I am someone who has constantly learned from my lows: Ravichandran Ashwin

While speaking to Cricbuzz about his Test journey so far after the 700 wicket feat, Ravichandran Ashwin said that he is someone who constantly learns from his lows.

“There is no cricketer or human being in this world who has been through its ups and downs. When you’re down, he gives you two options, either sulk or talk about it and then complain and go with the flow and come down. Or you learn from it. So I am someone who is constantly learning from my basses,” said the 36-year-old spinner.

Ravichandran Ashwin also acknowledged that his cricketing journey has not been very smooth as it is tiring to seek excellence. He is also thankful for all his low moments because, without them, there are no high moments.

“In fact, the best thing that will happen today after this good day that I have had is that I am going to eat well, have a good conversation, talk to my family and go to bed and then forget about everything. When you’ve had a good day, you know you’ve had a good day, but there are areas you can work on and improve for tomorrow.”

“This constant search for excellence has helped me a lot all along, but it has also been incredibly exhausting. It is not a journey that has been very easy. For me the journey has been exhausting but I am very thankful for all the lows because without lows there are no highs,” said the ICC Test No. 1 bowler.
