India and the West Indies currently meet in the second game of the series at Queen’s Park in Port of Spain in Trinidad. Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been the best performer in the game as he has impressed many with his batting and bowling.
After India had scored 438 runs, West Indies got off to a great start at bat as skipper Kraigg Brathwaite and Tagenarine Chanderpaul (33) batted well, adding 71 runs for the opening partnership and ending Day 2 of the game on a high.
Despite losing his starting partner and Kirk McKenzie (32), Kraigg Brathwaite continued to hit with the same intensity and quite sensibly. He held onto one end and kept the speed of execution in check and, in the process, brought out his first half-century of the series.

With the way Kraigg Brathwaite was batting, there was a big hit on the cards and you needed something special to stop it and Ravichandran Ashwin did exactly that. The off-spinner produced a peach from a delivery and bowled out the West Indian skipper for 75 runs.
On the third ball of the fourth ball of the 73rd, Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a jaffa which turned sharply and through the gate. Kraigg Brathwaite tried to defend himself, but he missed the delivery line only to see his stump rattle.

IND vs. WI: He knows how to score runs – Dinesh Karthik over Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin in the first innings impressed many with his hitting. He scored 56 runs off 78 deliveries, including eight boundaries, and was out while trying to get the bowlers to the dry cleaners. His innings propelled India into the first innings with a total of 438.
Dinesh Karthik pointed out how Ravichandran Ashwin has been contributing with the bat. He remarked on his lazy elegance and said that he knows how to score runs. Speaking to Cricbuzz, he said:
There’s something in man, isn’t there? We end up talking about him in almost every Test Match he plays. He does something, most often it’s with the ball, but there are plenty of times when he’s done just as well with the bat. I remember very vividly seeing him in Bangalore in one of those U17 games, he was someone who could keep bowling without spin and keep things tight in an ODI.
“From there, he has possibly become one of the biggest clueless. But the key point I’m trying to make here is that he was a hitter before, and you can see it when he plays. He knows how to score runs. He has his lazy elegance,” he concluded.
