This was not the first ball status controversy in the series.

The ongoing AUS A vs INDA series was marred by another controversy regarding the ball today during the second unofficial test match.

Tensions erupted between the on-field umpires and pacer Prasidh Krishna after his request to change the ball was denied.

In Australia A’s 28th innings, Prasidh Krishna seemed dissatisfied with the state of the ball and approached umpire Gerard Abood, requesting a replacement. Abood, however, dismissed Krishna’s concerns and ordered the work to continue.

Former Australian cricketer Rob Quiney, commenting at the time, remarked that Krishna looked visibly “unhappy”.

As he progressed, Krishna’s frustration became more evident. When Marcus Harris, Australia A’s top scorer, defended a delivery that was returned to him, Krishna drove the ball hard towards Harris, causing two knockdowns.

This was not the first ball status controversy in the series. During the initial Test, the India A players faced an allegation of ball tampering by on-field umpire Shawn Craig.

Talking about the match, Krishna emerged as India A’s standout bowler, finishing with figures of 4 for 50, while Mukesh Kumar (3/41) and Khaleel Ahmed (2/56) also contributed with key wickets.

For Australia A, Marcus Harris led with a determined 74, strengthening his claim as a contender to partner Usman Khawaja at the top of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

India A faced challenges in their second innings, ending the day on 73 for 5. Dhruv Jurel, who had scored a remarkable fifty in the first innings, helped India A reach 73/5 at stumps, maintaining a narrow 11-run lead. .
