On Friday, October 11, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian National Cricket Team’s squad for the three-match Test series against the New Zealand National Cricket Team.

The India team announced by the BCCI is very similar to the one that played the two-match home Test series against the Bangladesh national cricket team which the Rohit Sharma-led team won comfortably 2-0.

Jasprit Bumrah named new vice-captain of Indian Test team

The biggest news after the announcement of the squad has been the appointment of main pacer Jasprit Bumrah as the new vice-captain of the team in the purest format of the game.

Meanwhile, only left-arm pacer Yash Dayal has been dropped from the team that faced Bangla Tigers, while the rest of the team remains the same. The BCCI has also named four reserves in the team.
