India will now take on Sri Lanka in the second ODI of the ongoing series. The second IND vs SL 2024 ODI will be held on Sunday, August 4 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Rohit Sharma is holding the reins of the Indian team in the series.

The Indian team has a strong squad with most of its members. However, in the pace department, aces Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are missing. Ahead of the second ODI, we take a look at the eleven players who are expected to play for India in the match.

Rohit Sharma (center)

Rohit Sharma is the captain of India in the IND vs SL ODI series and he will lead the team in the second game as well. He will also open the innings for the team in the upcoming game.

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill will be the other opener for Team India in the second ODI between IND and SL. He was also part of the first match. He has a lot of experience with Sharma in the ODI format.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is expected to be the one-out batsman for the team in the next game of the series. The right-handed batsman is now concentrating on the longer format after retiring from the shorter format.

Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer would be a good option in the middle order and is among the most reliable and experienced batsmen in that area. Iyer is also aiming to be selected for the Champions Trophy next year after missing the 2024 T20 World Cup.

KL Rahul (WK)

KL Rahul was chosen as the wicketkeeper in the first ODI and Team India will continue to use him in the upcoming game as well. The right-handed batsman is returning to the team after a long time as he was not part of the T20 WC 2024.

Dube of Shivam

Shivam Dube was picked for the opening game and will also be part of the second ODI. The left-handed batsman has cemented his place in the T20I squad and is now looking to get a spot in the ODI squad as well.

Washington Sundar

India cannot leave Washington Sundar out of the team as he is an all-rounder. He can take wickets with his right-arm spinner and also get big runs towards the end with his left-handed batting.

Akhar Patel

Axar Patel is another all-rounder who can score runs and also outspin batsmen with his spin attack. He is a left-arm bowler and provides more variation to the spin attack.

Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav is the most important spinner in the team and has been a part of the team for the last 7-8 years. He has made a great comeback in all three formats and can always create brilliant formats. He was also a part of the T20I World Championship.

Arshdeep Singh

After making a fortune in the T20I team, Arshdeep Singh is now looking to make his way into the ODI team as well. He has done a decent job and is the best left-arm spinner India has so far. The left-arm spinner will be part of the playing XI in the second ODI as well.

Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj gave an early start to the Indian team in the first ODI by getting a wicket in his first over and always put up a magnificent show against Sri Lanka. The right-arm spinner is the most experienced player in the team in the IND vs SL series.
