Indian selectors are yet to announce India’s ‘A’ team but it is expected to be revealed within a week.

In a recent development, it is understood that the Men in Blue team that will travel to Australia for the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) will play a solitary warm-up match before the start of the highly competitive one. Expected series.

However, the contest will be an internal match against the visiting team India ‘A’.

India ‘A’ will have traveled to Australia a few weeks earlier for a two-game series and will remain for a three-day warm-up match from November 15-17 at the WACA in Perth.

The first Australia vs India Test is scheduled to take place at the new Perth Stadium from November 22.

Speaking about the same, a Cricket Australia (CA) official said, “It is (an) internal (party), so it is up to India how they use the game. Maybe some of the Test players can play in India A games, but again in the BCCI. Not many countries seem to play warm-up matches these days. “Australia didn’t play any before the last series in India.”

India ‘A’ likely to be captained by talented batting sensation

Ahead of their warm-up match, the India ‘A’ team, which is expected to be led by batting superstar Ruturaj Gaikwad and possibly include some Test regulars, will have already played two matches against Australia ‘A’.

The first match will take place at the Great Barrier Reef Arena from October 31 to November 3, while the second match will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from November 7 to 10.

The Indian squad for these matches is yet to be announced, although the selectors are expected to reveal the squad within a week.

Elsewhere, Australia’s ‘A’ squad will be named on Monday (October 14) by chief selector George Bailey, who has called an official press conference.

There may also be news on Cameron Green, whose participation in the Border-Gavaslar Trophy remains uncertain due to a back injury.
