It is (an) internal (party) so it is up to India how they use the game – CA official
A Cricket Australia official confirmed that it will be an internal game and it will be up to India how many players will play. He mentioned that everything will depend on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Speaking to Cricbuzz, he explained:
“It’s (an) internal (match), so it’s up to India how they use the game. Maybe some of the Test players can play in the India A games, but again, it depends on the BCCI. Not many countries seem to play warm “These days Australia didn’t play any before the last series in India.”
Australia A vs India A matches will be fantastic for our fans – Peter Roach, Head of Cricket Programming and Operations, CA
Announcing the A tour schedule, Peter Roach, CA’s head of cricket programming and operations, said India A vs Australia A ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be fantastic for the fans. While talking about the same, he had said:
“The 2024-25 summer is highlighted by the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, the first five-Test series between the two giants in over 30 years. Having it run concurrently with the women’s ODIs and preceded by two major Australia Los A vs India A matches will be fantastic for our fans.
“Staging those A matches at the refurbished Great Barrier Reef Arena and the MCG gives these A matches significant status and will provide great opportunities for players from both sides to put their hand forward for selection.”
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be played from November 22. Adelaide will then host the second match starting on December 6. The third match will be played from December 14 at the Gabba before the fourth match at the MCG and the final match at the SCG on December 26 and January 3 respectively.
