Former spinner Harbhajan Singh is confident of Team India going all the way in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Team India has been one of the most dominant teams in the competition so far and looks destined to qualify for the semi-finals.

India is yet to lose a match in the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup. In the group stage, they won three of their four matches, while one match was abandoned due to the outfield being wet. In tough batting conditions, India beat the likes of Ireland, Pakistan and the United States in low-scoring games, while their players starred in every game.

In the first Super 8 game, the Rohit Sharma-led team put up a clinical effort with both bat and ball. Batting first, India scored 181 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs on a difficult batting pitch thanks to a brilliant half-century from Suryakumar Yadav. The players then made light work of Afghanistan’s batting challenge as they bowled them out for just 134 to power Team India to a 47-run victory.

Our team has shown exceptional form: Harbhajan Singh:

As the Indian team has done well in the T20 World Cup so far, Harbhajan Singh has praised and backed them to end the country’s long wait for a World Cup title. The former India player pointed out that each player has made a significant contribution to India’s good run so far and if the team manages to play with the same determination, they can win the T20 World Cup for the first time since 2007.

“Our team has shown exceptional form in the T20 World Cup so far, with every player in the eleven contributing significantly. We have been playing our best game ticking all the boxes. The boys are in great contact and confidence is high.

“If we continue to play with the same determination, intensity and passion, I have no doubt that we will be able to surpass the goal and take the World Cup home for the first time after 2007,” IANS quoted Harbhajan Singh as saying on Disney+’s Hot Star.

After beating Afghanistan in the first Super 8 clash, Team India will take on Bangladesh on Saturday (June 22) in their second game. A victory over Bangladesh will virtually ensure India’s passage to the semi-finals.

Team India will be desperate to go all the way to end the team’s long wait for an ICC trophy. India have not won the World Cup in any format since 2011, while their last ICC trophy was in 2013. Last year, India lost the final of the ODI World Cup and the World Test Championship and will look to clinch the Championship T20 World Cup in progress. Cup.
