‘Indians provoke me’: Nathan Lyon makes controversial statement

Australia national cricket team players Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head and Nathan Lyon spoke about the Indian players ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2025. The two teams will face off in the five-match Test series this winter . .

Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne said that he considers Rishabh Pant to be the funniest batsman in the Indian team. He highlighted how the wicketkeeper-batsman gives fun vibes and plays the game in the right spirit. Speaking to Star Sports, he explained:

“The one I always find funniest is Rishabh pants. “He’s always funny, laughs a lot and plays in the right spirit.”

Rishabh Pant is arguably one of the funniest players to have played cricket. The wicketkeeper-batsman always keeps things light on the field and is known for his commentary behind the stumps, which is recorded on the stump microphone. The funny voices he makes leave everyone divided.

On the cricket front, Rishabh Pant has already entered the greats of Indian cricket in Tests. His contribution to the white team has been immense and he has been one of the main reasons why the Indian national cricket team won two consecutive series in Australia as he was the main character.

In the 2018-19 tour, Rishabh Pant scored a fantastic century in the Sydney Test, but his best moment came in the last tour. The left-hander played a stellar innings of 87 runs in Sydney that helped India tie the game and then followed it up with an unbeaten 89 at the Gabba, helping the team chase a huge target and win for the first time in Brisbane.

Steve Smith, who also participated in the discussion, said Ravindra Jadeja is the one who bothers him the most. According to the top batsman, the Indian all-rounder always finds ways to be in the game with bat, ball and on the field. He explained:

“Jadeja bothers me on the field just because he is a very good player. He always finds a way to get into the battle, whether it is scoring runs, taking wickets or making a great catch. He can be a bit annoying at times, but he is a very good player.”

Jadeja is ranked as the MVP of the Indian cricket team in Test cricket. The all-rounder’s contribution to the team has been enormous. He recently became the second fastest player to reach the double of 3000 runs and 300 wickets in Test cricket. He will undoubtedly be crucial for the team in the longer game format during the tour of Australia.

All Indian players provoke me: Australian player Nathan Lyon

Australian batsman Travis Head was in awe of Virat Kohli and said that the batsman is always in the game, scoring runs for the team and giving them to the opponents because of his energy. He elaborated:

“I think a lot of people would say Virat just because of how good he is. He’s always running and his high energy is always there. He’s always interested in you.”

The most interesting comments among all the Australian players came from Nathan Lyon. The non-spinner said that all the Indian players activate it. He said:

“All the Indian players provoke me.”
